How do you know the star local student?

I am the State Chairperson for the Distinguished Young Women of Wisconsin program. Erin is our Distinguished Young Women of Wisconsin for 2023!

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Erin is an exceptional young lady from Brookfield Central High School. She is a leader in her school, as Public Forum Debate Captain, DECA Co-President, Key Club Co-President, Co-caption for the Girl's Tennis Team, and a member National Honor Society. She has done independent biomedical research at Marquette University, as well as been a part of the Supremes Research program at the Medical School of Wisconsin. She was recently named as a National Merit Finalist and Coca Cola Regional Finalist. In June, she will represent Wisconsin at the national finals of the Distinguished Young Woman program in Mobile, Alabama.

I was introduced to Erin through the Distinguished Young Women of Wisconsin program, when Erin was named the Distinguished Young Woman of Brookfield, 2023. Through this local program achievement, Erin qualified and progressed to the state-wide program, in which she competed in five categories, including interview, scholastic, talent, fitness and self-expression. She was awarded the Distinguished Young Woman of Wisconsin for 2023. She was also honored with the overall scholastics award, as well as preliminary awards in Interview, Self-Expression and Talent. Additionally, she received our “Be Your Best Self” award.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Distinguished Young Women (DYW) is a scholastic honorary program for high school senior females that awards college scholarships to deserving young ladies. Erin has been an outstanding representative of our state because of her self-confidence, maturity and leadership. Whenever we ask her to meet with a local organization or speak at an event, Erin cheerfully accepts and is genuinely excited to volunteer her time and talent. This is why I am so passionate to nominate her for this recognition.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Erin!
