Brook Buzz: Central Grad Releases Film, Book
Spirit Award nominee Ayad Akhtar releases novel "American Dervish" and has acting role in HBO movie "Too Big to Fail," JSOnline reports.
 alumnus Ayad Akhtar is making a splash on multiple fronts with new projects in television, theater and publishing, according to JSOnline's entertainment critic Duane Dudek.
In Dudek's column, he writes that Akhtar's novel American Dervish is a fictional work set in Milwaukee that is based on his experiences growing up in Brookfield.Â
Ayad also has an acting role in To Big to Fail, which airs at 8 p.m. Monday on HBO. He was nominated for a 2006 Independent Spirit Award for his film The War Within.
