Brookfield Garbage Contractor Caught Up With Trash Backlog

The City of Brookfield's new garbage contractor, GFL — Green for Life — faced a huge task of picking up weeks' worth of garbage.

BROOKFIELD, WI—The City of Brookfield's new garbage contractor, GFL — Green for Life — dealt with picking up weeks' worth of garbage left from the previous contractor.

Alderman Brad Blumer announced on his public page GFL has finally caught up with the backlog from Waste Management.

"Kudos to GFL for putting in the time and effort above and beyond what they should have been expected to do to get our situation resolved. That being said, they are still new to the city, so keep an eye out for misses," Blumer said.

On Saturday, GFL were not able to complete garbage and recycling pickup despite working long hours, the city said.
