Brookfield Parents Cautioned On TikTok Safety Threat
Elmbrook School District wasn't mentioned in the threats, the district said.
BROOKFIELD, WI— Elmbrook parents are being cautioned about an unspecified threat to school safety — however there is no specific threat to schools in Brookfield, according to the Elmbrook School District.
There are messages on the social media app TikTokthat there will be school shootings on Friday. The district said Elmbrook wasn't mentioned.
"The Brookfield Police Department and our School Resource Officers are aware of the threat and continue to assess any potential impact on our schools. To ensure that Elmbrook Schools continues to be a safe place to learn, there will be an increased police presence at our schools on December 17," the district said.

The district encourages all families to talk about how a child should respond to any threat or concern, regardless of the source or legitimacy. If a student is not comfortable going to an adult directly, they can use Wisconsin’s Speak Up, Speak Out app that will notify a school administrator and/or police authorities immediately.
