BROOKFIELD, WI— Life Time, a luxury athletic resort in Brookfield, confirmed that employees who were furloughed in March have been laid off.

A spokesperson for Life Time released the following statement to Patch:

"The ramifications of COVID-19 continue to affect businesses such as ours and we did make the difficult decision to eliminate positions that had been on furlough status since our initial closure on March 16. The vast majority of these roles were extremely part time. We look forward to when our clubs are back at normal capacities and we are able to hire once again."
