City of Brookfield Announces Esports Playing Event
Players ages 8-15 will compete in Fortnite and Rocket League.

BROOKFIELD, WI—The City of Brookfield Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department has partnered with XP League-Brookfield for a fun event.
XP Leagues provides children ages 8-15, the experience of professional style game play just like the pros.
A community Esports playing event will be held on Jan. 17.

Players will compete in Fortnite and Rocket League, based on preference. A professional gaming competition will be offered with brackets of various ages and skill levels. Participants are placed into teams of three. They are encouraged to sign up together in order to be placed into teams with their friends.
"The focus of this program is good communication, knowledge of the game, and basic skill development. There will be opportunities to meet with an XP League Coach, experience Aim Lab training simulations and other fun activities," the city said on Facebook.

Gaming laptops and keyboards will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own wired controllers and keyboards, if they prefer using their own equipment.
Non-residents may participate, but must register one week before. Participants must be ages 8-15.
