Discover Brookfield Holds Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest
The contest runs from December 1- 18, with the 18th marking National Ugly Sweater Day.
BROOKFIELD, WI—It is sweater weather season and now people can show off their best ugly Christmas sweaters. Discover Brookfield, the tourism department for the Town of Brookfield, is holding an ugly Christmas sweater content.
To take part in the contest, residents are asked to take a photo or video of themselves in an ugly Christmas sweater in front of a local business and share it on social media. In the post, residents need to tag Discover Brookfield (@discoverbrookfield) and the town business for a chance to win a $50 gift card to a local business of your choice.
The contest runs from December 1-18, with the 18th marking National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. Only one entry is allowed per person and anyone entering the contest must be over 18. Discover Brookfield will announce the winner on December 21.

Anna Matel Antoine, the Brookfield tourism director, told Patch this is the first year for the contest.
"The Ugly Christmas Sweater contest actually was brought up by Carol White of the Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce as a way to draw recognition of Discover Brookfield while also having a fun holiday theme," Antoine said.

The hope is for people to visit shops (retail, restaurant, etc.) in the town and snap a picture of themselves in front of the business.
"This will help us in branding Discover Brookfield and promoting businesses in the Town of Brookfield. I hope people have fun with it and I can’t wait to see all the great pictures on social media," Antoine told Patch.
