Don't Mess With the Bride

Dispute over wedding dress gets testy at Brookfield laundromat.

A woman grabbed her wedding dress and fled a laundromat without paying her bill, the business' owner told police.

Se-Won Kim, owner of at 13175 W. Blue Mound Road, called 911 at 5:22 p.m. Wednesday to say he was standing in front of a customer's Chevy Blazer, blocking it from driving away, according to police reports.

"Caller reports female running away with her wedding dress without paying for the cleaning," the reports say.

Before a squad pulled up, the 32-year-old woman had parked and walked back into the store. She told police "she was unhappy with the services provided, grabbed the dress and took off."

After being told the matter was not a criminal matter, the woman agreed to pay her bill but said she planned to look into possible legal action.
