Elmbrook Moves To Virtual Learning Over Coronavirus Concerns

Elmbrook students will have class on Friday, March 13, but after that will have virtual learning up until spring break, officials said.

BROOKFIELD, WI — The same day Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers declared a public health emergency over the spread of coronavirus, Elmbrook School District officials made some changes to their academic calendar.

According to Elmbrook officials, beginning on Monday, March 16, all Elmbrook Schools will move to virtual learning, and no students will report to school. Spring break will continue as planned from March 23-27.

According to Elmbrook school district officials, school will be in session on Friday, March 13, and teachers are being encouraged to use this time together with students to review the week ahead and the resources that will be used to guide and direct learning.

The Burleigh 5th grade musical performances scheduled for Friday, March 13th have been postponed to a later date.

The District Solo and Ensemble Competition at Brookfield East on Saturday has been canceled.

The WIAA is guiding all post-season competitions, including limiting Thursday evening's East-Central boys basketball game to less than 245 people.

Changes to co-curricular events such as spring sport practices will be communicated on Friday, March 13.

Elmbrook Schools will be distributing lunches every weekday at two school sites to students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Additional information about meal pick-up will be shared with families on March 13, district officials said.
