Erin Hu named Distinguished Young Woman of Wisconsin for 2023
Finals showcase culminated in a week of preparation and community activities
On Saturday, July 30, Erin Hu of Brookfield Central High School was named Distinguished Young Woman of Wisconsin for 2023 and presented with a cash scholarship of $3,000 during the Wisconsin State Finals.
Following a selection process in her town of Brookfield, Hu traveled to the state finals last weekend with ten other state representatives to participate in community activities and prepare for the state competition. Hu amassed a total of $4,500 in cash scholarships through her participation in the Distinguished Young Women program at the state level alone, plus additional scholarships at the local level.
In addition to serving as the state representative of Distinguished Young Women of Wisconsin for the next year, Hu will prepare to participate in the DYW National Finals next June in Mobile, AL.
