Fire Dept. Responds To Refrigerator Issue At Brookfield Grocery Store
The Brookfield Fire Department was called out to reports of a refrigeration unit sparking and smoking at a Metro Market Thursday.
BROOKFIELD, WI — Authorites said nobody was injured after a 911 call came in Thursday morning about a refrigeration unit sparking and smoking at a grocery store in Brookfield.
Firefighters were called out to the Metro Market at 17630 West Bluemound Road around 9:40 a.m. When crews entered the store they noticed the smell of a possible electrical fire and a slight haze in the air, according to a news release from the Brookfield Fire Department.
Firefighters were directed to a refrigeration unit in the produce aisle that had been reportedly sparking and smoking so they shut off the power at the breaker box and mitigated the problem, the fire department said.
