Former Brookfield Central Athlete Pleads Guilty To Drug Charges
Court records show that Gage Malensek pleaded guilty to two counts of manufacturing/delivering marijuana in Waukesha County Circuit Court.

BROOKFIELD, WI — A former Brookfield Central High School athlete accused of selling marijuana pleaded guilty to two felony drug charges against him after authorities say he sold drugs to confidential informants in early 2019.
Court records show that Gage Malensek, a former player on the Brookfield Central Boy's Basketball Team, pleaded guilty to two counts of manufacturing/delivering THC on Feb. 24 in Waukesha County Circuit Court.
Malensek is due back in court on March 20 for his sentencing hearing.

According to court records, two counts of manufacturing THC, two counts of possession of THC and single counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place, and possessing drug paraphernalia were dismissed by the court, but read into the official record.

The Brookfield Central Boy's basketball team got a dose of bad on the eve of the 2019 WIAA playoffs after authorities said they arrested Malensek on suspicion of multiple drug charges.
According to a CBS 58 report, police in Brookfield said they relied on confidential informants in order to catch Malensek selling drugs. According to police reports, informants bought marijuana or THC vape cartridges from Malensek three times; twice outside a Panera and once outside of gas station.
Authorities said detectives searched his home, and found scales, marijuana pipes, bongs, and records relating to the "purchase, distribution, and manufacture of marijuana."
