Lloyd Carter Gets 67 Percent in City
City of Brookfield voters overwhelmingly choose Assistant District Attorney Lloyd Carter over incumbent Waukesha County Circuit Judge Kathleen Stilling.

City of Brookfield residents voted overwhelmingly to unseat a Waukesha County circuit judge and elect a prosecutor who earned heavy Republican support.
Waukesha County Assistant District Attorney Lloyd Carter got 67 percent of the votes in the City of Brookfield — the same percentage he received countywide to defeat sitting Judge Kathleen Stilling.
Carter received 7,635 city votes and Stilling garnered 3,835.

Countywide, Carter rolled with 63,129 votes, or 31,931 more than Stilling's 31,288 votes.
after GOP backers attacked the fact that former Gov. Jim Doyle had appointed Stilling, a defense attorney, to the bench. Carter and his supporters said Carter was the "only conservative" in the race. District Attorney Brad Schimel and Waukesha County Sheriff Dan Trawicki appeared on radio ads for Carter.
