MADISON, WI — State officials are asking for the public's help in finding out exactly how many local businesses were impacted by the sudden closure of MyPayrollHR - an online provider of payroll and human resources software.

According to media reports, in early September the CEO of MyPayrollHR admitted to a $70 million fraud case that negatively impacted all of their business customers and people employed by their business customers.

Peter Barca, State Department of Revenue chair said that September payments made on behalf of affected businesses have resulted in "insufficient funds, and will potentially subject them to late payment interest fees and penalties."
