Pet Resorts Branch Into Wisconsin With First Locations In Brookfield
Two competing pet "resorts" are making their first forays into Wisconsin with Brookfield as their location of choice.
BROOKFIELD, WI — With the first already open and a second competing business to come, Brookfield is Wisconsin's ground zero for new luxury-branded pet "resorts" that offer grooming, daycare, boarding and more.
K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel at 19255 West Bluemound Road was the first of the two chains to launch in Wisconsin. The new franchise location, opened by Allen and Sara Kline, held a grand opening on Saturday, a news release from the brand said. Meanwhile, the separate chain PetSuites said it is planning to open its resort for dogs and cats at 3165 North 124th Street on Aug. 29.
K9 Resorts, which solely focuses on dogs, features over 9,000 square feet of space inside and out with an array of amenities, according to a news release from the company. The brand touted itself as "the Ritz-Carlton of dog hotels," and said its locations feature air purification, Kuranda dog bedding, Microban built into the floors, and attentive staff.

Meanwhile, PetSuites is planning to open by the end of August with similar dog amenities plus space for cats, a news release from the brand said. The spot plans to be open daily from 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m. with "premium amenities including large, open indoor play yards for dogs and a separate retreat for our feline friends."
Beyond boarding, PetSuites also plans to offer daycare, grooming and training services.

"Whether you are traveling for vacation, business, or just know your pet would like a staycation to get away from noisy activities at home, PetSuites Brookfield will offer local pets the multitude of benefits," the brand wrote.
The already-open K9 Resorts space can board 70 dogs and provide daycare to an additional 100 dogs, the resort said. The new location is set to bring about 20 jobs to the local economy. People can book reservations at the company's website www.k9resorts.com/brookfield/.
