Recycling, LED Kits And Food Donations At Tosa Green Summit

The Tosa Green Summit will gather local green organizations to provide aid and resources.

WAUWATOSA, WI — The Tosa Green Summit will host a convention of green organizations at City Hall, 7725 W. North Ave., in September.

Here is a list of dates and times to recycle, donate food or buy an LED light kit.

Sept. 11

  • Recycling stations for shredding, medicine, textiles and bicycles will be open from 8 a.m to 1 p.m. in the City Hall parking lot.
  • Tosa Cares will accept donations for nonperishable food and personal care items in the parking lot from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Focus on Energy Pop Shop will sell LED starter kits for $10 in the parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sept. 7 to Sept. 20.
  • Heather Deaton, a wealth advisor at Ellenbecker Investment Group, will present "Sustainable Investing for Our Future" at 11 a.m. in the Upper Civic Center of City Hall.
  • The summit will host exhibits in the Lower Civic Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sept. 18

  • The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District will host a recycling station in the City Hall parking lot from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will take household hazardous waste from Milwaukee County residents only, according to the city website. MMSD will charge $35 for TVs and $10 for computer monitors.

Organizations that will appear at the summit include the Friends of the Hank Aaron Trail, Bublr Bikes and Green Neighbor Wauwatosa, the summit said in a Facebook post.
