Road Rage in the Roundabout

Upset about a motorist's sudden lane change in the roundabout at Barker Road and North Avenue, a passenger threw a drink at the motorist, police say.

A road rage incident in the roundabout at Barker Road and North Avenue ended with a 12-year-old passenger throwing a drink out his window at the other motorist, police say.

A 43-year-old woman called police at 7:19 p.m. Wednesday to complain that someone threw a soft drink at her car while she driving in the roundabout.

The woman said the other car "came out of nowhere" and honked at her before throwing the drink.

But a 23-year-old passenger in that other car said the woman had nearly caused an accident when she suddenly changed lanes in the roundabout without signaling. The driver in the other car had to brake hard and honked, the passenger said.

The passenger said the woman "brake-checked" the other car, which passed her and the 12-year-old passenger threw the drink.

Officers gave warnings to all involved about the dangers of road rage, illegal lane changes and disorderly conduct.
