School Closing Procedures For Bad Weather In Brookfield
Elmbrook School District's procedure for school closing when the weather is frightful.

BROOKFIELD, WI — Winter weather means snowy days and sometimes frigid temperatures. Elmbrook School District released its school closing procedures when the weather is inclement for the 2021-22 school year.
The district will notify parents, students and staff in a variety of ways when bad weather comes, the district said.
It will decide to close a school before 5:30 a.m. in order to give parents, students and the bus company enough time to respond, the district said.

In the event that a school closes, all families will receive a SchoolMessenger call and email as soon as a decision is made. Text messages are also available through SchoolMessenger.
Families were encouraged to opt into SchoolMessenger’s SMS messaging option.

The school and district websites will update with an emergency message as soon as a decision is made. All major media outlets will be notified.
"The decision to close school is always a difficult one. Every effort will be made to consider the safety of the students, the safety of the faculty, and the convenience to parents when making such decisions," the district said.
In the 2021-22 school year, inclement weather days will be addressed as follows.
- First day: No School, no makeup required.
- Second day: No School, no makeup required.
- Additional days:
- Grades K-5: No School, no makeup required.
- Grades 6-12: Attend school virtually.
