Suspect At Large After Chase; Lockout At Brookfield School: Sheriff

The search for a Pewaukee domestic violence case suspect Wednesday led to a crash near Capitol Drive and Lilly Road, authorities said.

BROOKFIELD, WI — Brookfield East High School was briefly put under a "lockout" Wednesday afternoon amid a search for domestic violence suspect, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were investigating in Pewaukee around 1 p.m. when the suspect drove off east on Capitol Drive, sparking a pursuit, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. The suspect eventually crashed into a bystander's car near Lilly Road, the news release said.

The suspect ran away and deputies checked the area with a dog and a drone, the sheriff's office said. Meanwhile, Brookfield East was put under lockout for around an hour.

Nobody was injured in the ordeal, but the suspect remains at large and is sought by law enforcement, according to the news release.

The sheriff's office said it plans on forwarding charges to the Waukesha County District Attorney including domestic battery, battery to an unborn child, false imprisonment, eluding, and recklessly endangering safety.

The sheriff's office thanked residents and businesses for dealing with the two-hour closure on Capitol Drive and for reporting suspect sightings.
