Megal Earns Tae Kwon Do Black Belt

And now for our Whiz Kid this week ... it's Emma Megal, 13, an 8th grader at :
Accomplishment: Emma manages to pull down "A" grades while earning a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, playing softball for the Pride of the Midwest, and when she can, volunteering at the Milwaukee Public Museum as an enactor in the Streets of Old Milwaukee and European Village.

Key to Megal's awesomeness: Her strong work ethic and conscientiousness.
Emma pushes herself to improve her athletic skills, working out at and with her Tae Kwon Do coach, Master Giwon Lee.
Lee said Emma, who has been in Bally's classes for nine years, was one of his top students. She has won four grand championships in the region that includes Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota.
"She is very focused, dedicated, concentrated and disciplined in her work," Lee said. "She is a prime example of the everyday student. I am so proud what she has been through."
Pilgrim Park science teacher Megan Peterson said Emma displays a great attitude and team spirit.
"She has high standards for herself and shows excellence in all she does," Peterson said. "She is a positive contributor in both the classroom and the community."
