• Bird flu hits Wisconsin dairy farm for first time (farmprogress.com) — A dairy herd in Fox Lake has become the first in Wisconsin where bird flu has been detected in cattle, and the farm is now under quarantine while sick animals are isolated. State and federal agencies stress that pasteurization keeps the commercial milk supply safe and say the human health risk remains low, but they urge local livestock owners to register premises and watch animals closely for illness.
