18-Mile Police Chase In Franklin Ends With Arrest

Franklin police said they arrested a 19-year-old man from Milwaukee near 27th and Loomis after a chase early Thursday morning.

FRANKLIN, WI — After Franklin police tried pulling over a vehicle early Thursday morning, the driver sped off and led officers on an 18-mile pursuit, police said.

The chase ended with the arrest of a 19-year-old and police planning to refer several charges to the Milwaukee County District Attorney, including second-degree recklessly endangering safety, according to a news release from Franklin police.

Police first tried to pull the vehicle over near 27th Street and Drexel Avenue around 1:45 a.m., but the driver sped away and officers followed for nearly 20 miles, police said.

Eventually, the chase ended near 27th Street and Loomis Road when the suspect got out of their vehicle and ran away, according to police. Officers arrested him after a foot pursuit.

Police said they also plan to refer charges of fleeing an officer, resisting an officer and carrying a concealed weapon.
