3 Cars Stolen From Franklin Had Keys Inside: Police
The Franklin Police Department alerted residents on Dec. 22 that three cars were stolen in the span of three days.

FRANKLIN, WI — Three cars were stolen from Franklin over the course of three days leading up to Dec. 22, the Franklin Police Department announced via Facebook.
Each of the cars had keys left inside overnight when they were taken, the post said. Alongside the news of the stolen cars, Franklin police reminded residents of how they can protect their property:
- Do not leave your keys in your unlocked vehicles overnight or anytime.
- Do not leave your vehicles unlocked.
- Do not leave valuables in your vehicles.
One person who commented on the department's Facebook post wrote that their family was one of the victims, but that it was an honest mistake on their part. When it comes to why keys were left in their car, the comment says it was because someone accidentally left them in a cupholder after they finished moving around cars in the driveway.
