3 Franklin Restaurants Earn Spots Among Yelp's Best Milwaukee Eats

FRANKLIN, WI — Three restaurants in Franklin were named in Yelp's latest ranking of the Top 50 Places to Eat in Milwaukee.

Yelp, which crowdsources online reviews for restaurants, published the list this week. Earning the top seat in the review was Wauwatosa-based Hawaiian BBQ restaurant Ono Kine Grindz. Franklin businesses earning spots on the list were Sweet Basil, Mimosa and Honey Butter Cafe.

Franklin's Mimosa, which recently reopened in May after a renovation, came in at No. 13. The spot is known for its brunch favorites, locally sourced cage-free eggs, potatoes cooked in olive oil, selection of Mimosas and bloody marys, and more. The brunch spot is located at 9405 South 27th Street.

At No. 18 was Sweet Basil, known for its wide range of Thai and Lao street foods. Menu offerings include curated platters for the "most original" Laotian food experience, Thai curries, fried bananas, and more. Sweet Basil is located at 6509 South 27th Street, B.

Another Franklin breakfast spot that made it to the list was Honey Butter Cafe, ranking at No. 35. Some specialties offered by the cafe include honey puffs called Loukoumades, plus organic fresh coffee, according to its website. Breakfast items include traditional items like eggs, french toast and waffles, or more adventurous food like crab cake benedict. Honey Butter Cafe is located at 7221 South 76th Street.
