1. Mallard Lake Trail

The Mallard Lake Trail is a flat, 1.4-mile loop that circles the lake and passes through grassy meadows and wooded areas. It offers a quiet, leisurely walking experience with scenic lake views and wildlife spotting opportunities.


2. Wehr Nature Center Trail

This 2.6-mile loop is rated easy to moderate and winds through forest, prairie, and wetland habitats. Visitors can enjoy boardwalks, a scenic waterfall, and birdwatching in a peaceful, natural setting.


3. City of Franklin Hike & Bike Trail (Route of the Badger)

📍Between Forest Homes Avenue and S. North Cape Road, Franklin, WI

This 1.5-mile paved trail is flat and accessible, making it great for both walking and biking. It runs through farmland and wooded areas and connects to the Muskego Recreation Trail for a longer adventure.


4. Seven Bridges Trail (Grant Park)

📍S Lake Drive and Park Avenue, South Milwaukee, WI 53172 (~20 minutes)

This 2-mile loop is considered moderate and features forested paths, historic stone bridges, and Lake Michigan views. The trail provides a fairytale-like atmosphere and ends with access to a quiet beach.


5. Root River Parkway / Oak Leaf Trail (Root River Line)

📍 3300 S 116th Street, West Allis, WI (~15 minutes)

This paved trail follows the scenic Root River and is suitable for walkers, joggers, and cyclists. The route is mostly flat and winds through wooded areas and open meadows, offering a relaxing outdoor experience.


6. Kegel Alpha Trail System

This local trail system features four miles of multi-use trails with a mix of easy to intermediate loops, including flowing sections, tight turns and moderate climbs. Bikes follow a one-way route, while hikers can travel in both directions.
