Why are you seeking office?

When Alderman John Nelson decided to make a bid for the office of mayor in Franklin, some did not know of his intent and were concerned that there would not be a voice representing the community on the common council. I was noticed due to my ability to work well with others and be reasonable person.

What is the most pressing issue facing your office, and how do you plan on addressing it?

The pressing issues are ones that face all government, how can the government enrich the lives of the citizens without being an intrusive factor to the citizen’s lives? I intend to work with the mayor, whomever that may be, and the director of economic development to create an environment inviting for businesses to put down roots and expand. But it is important that those businesses that come to Franklin are coming to thrive but also act as good neighbors to the residents that call Franklin home as well.

What are the critical differences between yourself and the other candidates seeking this office?

I have time spent in government. I know how to navigate through opposition to get results. That being said, district 6 does have good choices on the ballot. Either pick will represent the district and the people of Franklin as a whole with honor and integrity.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.

There is a need to have a unified voice within social media for the city. There is a vast divide in subgroups within Facebook to get information or to be pointed in the right direction.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Servicing on the Whitnall School Board, we have been able to see one of my priories become a reality in the expansion of dual enrollment courses at the high school. Progress like that is what I bring to the role as alderman

What is the best advice ever shared with you?

Don't ever quit. Not even to your last drop of blood. You got folks relying on you then you just can't afford to. But even if it's only for yourself you still can't give in. Can't go to meet your maker and say "I'm here because I lost my nerve"
