Franklin Plans Veteran's Day Program 2021: Speakers, Rifle Salute
Veteran's Day is right around the corner. Here is where and when Franklin plans on recognizing the federal holiday.

FRANKLIN, WI — Veteran's Day is right around the corner and a ceremony has been planned to take place in Franklin.
The federal holiday stands as not only the anniversary of the final day of WWI, but also as a day to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
In Franklin, a program is scheduled for Nov. 11. The ceremony, sponsored by AMVETS Post 60, plans to bring speakers, quilts of honor and a rifle salute, according to the City's website.

The program is planned to take place at the Franklin Public Library, 9151 W. Loomis Road. Planned speakers include Mayor Steve Olson, Retired USAF Colonel Ann Knabe and AMVETS Post 60 Commander Jean Ruka.
A number of quilts of honor will be presented to veterans in honor of their service at the program. A POW/MIA presentation is also planned to take place. A rifle salute by the Franklin Police Department is planned and Taps will be played, according to the City of Franklin's website.
