'Deer District Franklin': Bucks Watch Party At Ballpark Commons

FRANKLIN, WI — The Milwaukee Bucks are headed to game six of the NBA Finals Tuesday night. Looking for a solid spot to watch in the south shore?

ROC Ventures announced in a news release that it will be turning Ballpark Commons in Franklin into a "Deer District Franklin." The Milwaukee Milkmen will hold their game earlier than planned tonight to account for the watch party, the news release said.

Tonight's game will be aired on the Franklin Field scoreboard and Milky-Way Drive-In screen, the news release said. The watch party will be free. Food and beverages will be available for sale.

“We anticipate a really amazing shared experience, right here in our backyard,” said Mike Zimmerman, CEO of ROC Ventures and owner of the Milwaukee Milkmen. “The Milwaukee Bucks organization has given their blessing and dubbed us Deer District Franklin, a title we wear tonight with pride.”

The drive in will open its 40-foot LED board to offer the free watch party. There will also be drinks served up all night, according to the Facebook post from the Umbrella Bar.

The watch party will be held at 7011 South Ballpark Drive in Franklin.

To not obstruct the Bucks watch party, the Milwaukee Milkmen announced on Facebook that the team will change its game time today. The Milkmen game will start at 5 p.m. tonight against the Chicago Dogs, the post said. Tonight is kids eat free night at the Milwaukee Milkmen game.

Those who have tickets to the Milkmen game that are impacted by the time change can exchange their ticket for one to another game, according to the news release.

The Bucks have only ever made it to the NBA Finals once. It was back in 1971, only three years after the team was founded. Milwaukee won against the Baltimore Bullets and took home the Larry O'Brien Trophy for its first and only time.

Fifty years later, the Bucks are returning for a historic shot at the NBA Finals.

The Bucks are leading the Phoenix Suns with three straight wins in the best-of-seven series, with a 123-119 victory in Game 5 on Saturday.

The two teams will meet again at the in Milwaukee. The Bucks are ahead 3-2, so Phoenix will need two wins to capture their first-ever NBA championship.

Giannis Antetokunmpo, Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton combined for 88 points on Saturday, according to NBA's website. They're the fifth trio in NBA Finals history to each score 25 points on 50 percent shooting in a single game, it added.
