Arbor Day already passed, but Franklin's celebration and a clean-up is scheduled for Saturday. Here's how to get involved.
FRANKLIN, WI — While the official Arbor Day has passed, there are still plans to celebrate it in Franklin on Saturday with a city-wide clean-up and free saplings.
Both events will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Franklin Public Library, 9151 West Loomis Road. For the Arbor Day Celebration, Franklin residents will be able to find free tree saplings from the Franklin Environmental Commission while supplies last, according to the city's website.
In addition to the saplings, there will be bird-friendly shrubs and wildflower seed packets, the city said, plus a host of other native plants.
