FRANKLIN, WI — Franklin police arrested a Louisana man at a hotel on 27th Street on June 6 after the man got into an argument with another guest and armed himself with a hand sanitizer station attached to a metal pole, according to the latest logs reported by the Franklin Police Department.

Police took the man into custody around 1 a.m. at Staybridge Suites, 9575 27th Street, for disorderly conduct while armed, police said. The man was brought to County Jail but soon released. Charges were referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney, police said.

Dehumidifier Starts Fire At Franklin Residence

Franklin police helped to investigate a fire that broke out on June 8 at a residence in the 7900 block of Chapel Hill Court. A dehumidifier caught fire in the home's basement, police said.

Nobody was injured, but the residence had minor smoke and water damage, police logs said.

$2000 Worth Of Televisions, Audio Equipment Stolen From Walmart

Two people stole about five flatscreen televisions, sound bars and other audio equipment worth about $2000 from the Walmart at 6701 27th Street on June 9 just after 9 p.m., according to police logs.

Motorcycle Leads Police On 5.5 Mile Chase

A Franklin officer tried to pull over a yellow Suzuki motorcycle that was seen driving recklessly near 27th Street and College Avenue just before 10 p.m. on Friday, but the motorcyclist did not stop, police said.

Police from Franklin and Oak Creek chased the vehicle for about 5.5 miles before terminating the pursuit near 6th Street and College Avenue, police logs said.

Police later found the motorcycle at a trailer park, and a person at the residence was arrested on an unrelated warrant, according to police.

Police Use Drone In Search For Vehicle Theft Suspect

Franklin police were called out by the Racine County Sheriff's Office near 27th Street and Elm Road around 3 a.m. on June 6 to help with the search for a suspect in a stolen vehicle pursuit, police said.

The pursuit had ended in the 3000 block of Elm Road, and the suspect ran away, police said. Franklin police deployed their drone and helped to establish a perimeter, identifying the suspect and recovering the vehicle, but the suspect got away, police said.
