How Franklin Ranked In Niche's 2022 Best Places To Live

Niche.com recently ranked communities across the country. Here's how Franklin scored on their rankings, and who took top marks in Wisconsin.

FRANKLIN, WI — Franklin was ranked the 53rd best place to live in Wisconsin in a study by Niche.com for its 2022 rankings. Nationally, Franklin came in at No. 3,639 for the best places to live.

Niche, a data and analytics website, studied hundreds of cities and thousands of towns across America for its 2022 rankings. Franklin came in with higher-than-average marks for many categories.

The company says it used data from the U.S. Census, FBI and CDC, among other sources, to rank American communities on crime, public schools, cost of living, job opportunities and local amenities. The company also includes neighbor reviews to create its rankings, according to Niche's website.

Here's how Franklin scored in each section of Niche's study:

  • Public schools: A
  • Housing: B
  • Good for families: A
  • Crime and safety: C+
  • Nightlife: B
  • Diversity: B+

Nationally, Niche's 2022 ranking found Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, was the best place to live.

In Wisconsin, the top three communities to live in, according to Niche, were Whitefish Bay, Elm Grove and Kohler.

Franklin recieved the No. 15 spot when it comes to the "most diverse suburb in Wisconsin" category. Niche ranked it as the 34th best in the suburbs with the best public schools in Wisconsin. Those rankings come in comparison to 110 other communities in Wisconsin.
