FRANKLIN, WI — Franklin Mayor Steve Olson has made a friendly wager with Mayor Robert Magnus of Oconomowoc on the results of the Milwaukee Milkmen's first series of 2022.

The Milkmen, Franklin's home minor league baseball team, is playing against the Lake Country Dockhounds on Friday and throughout this weekend at Franklin Field. The two mayor's made a bet that whoever's team wins the series, the other will take a splash in the dunk tank, according to a news release from the Milkmen.

“We were originally going to wager a lifetime supply of lip balm for Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers but Mayor Magnus wouldn’t have it,” said Mayor Olson in the news release, referring to Carmex, Franklin's largest exporter, and The Wizard of Oz, which had one of its first showings in Oconomowoc in 1939.

If the Milkmen win the weekend series, Magnus said he'd get in some team gear and get in the dunk tank the next time the two teams are playing at Franklin Field. If the Dockhounds win, Mayor Olson will wear Lake Country gear and get dunked.
