• In Memory of Elaine Dieterich: Cherished Mother and Teacher (gmtoday.com) — Grafton families may remember Elaine Dieterich from her years supporting students at John Long Middle School and Woodview Elementary, where she worked with children facing learning and emotional challenges. The longtime West Bend resident is remembered as a devoted teacher, church volunteer, and grandmother whose private memorial service will be held later, with memorials suggested to the Washington County Humane Society.
   

• The Next Deluge May Go Differently (greatlakesnow.org) — Wetlands at Lion’s Den Gorge Nature Preserve in Grafton, funded by the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Fund, are highlighted as a key local example of how restored floodplains can protect communities from increasingly intense storms. The piece explains how state and federal rollbacks of wetland protections and funding could jeopardize similar projects across Ozaukee County and Wisconsin, just as climate change brings heavier rainfall and more damaging floods.
