AOL yesterday that it acquired the Huffington Post for $315 million and brought its co-founder, Arianna Huffington, into the AOL fold.
Huffington co-founded the Huffington Post six years ago and she has grown to be one of the most successful online entrepreneurs.
The deal was finalized at halftime of the Super Bowl.Â

"Arianna is a singularly passionate and dedicated champion of innovative journalistic engagement, and a master of the art of using new media to illuminate, entertain and enhance the national conversation," AOL CEO Tim Armstrong said in a news release. "Arianna is a remarkable person and she will continue to create remarkable outcomes for the combined company."
