• First responders in Milwaukee, Madison see success in first year of whole blood transfusion initiative (wpr.org) — Greendale firefighters are now among seven Milwaukee County departments carrying whole blood on ambulances, giving trauma patients lifesaving transfusions before they even reach the hospital. In the program’s first year, more than 100 patients statewide have benefited, including crash, shooting, and medical cases. Officials say each minute saved delivering blood can significantly improve survival, and they hope to expand the effort further.
