Car Owner Choked During Theft; Three Home Burglaries

A man faked being hurt on the side of the road.

A person lying on the side of the road fooled a man and stole his car.

The man was driving on 76th street near the Wolf Preserve on Dec. 9 when he saw a car pull to the side of the road and throw a person out of the passenger side door. The man pulled over to check on the thrown person and some came up behind him and began choking him, according to police documents.

He then saw the "hurt" passenger get up and get into his car, while the other person who was choking got into his own car. Police documents state that the man ran away from them into the parkway because they began chasing him.
