Two Positions Up for Re-Election in the Greendale School Board

The will host a workshop in December to encourage residents to learn more about the district and provide information to those interested in becoming a candidate for the school board.

The School Board Academy will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the District Office, located in , 5900 South 51st Street.

The five-member Greendale School Board will have two regular, three-year term positions on the Spring 2012 ballot. School board vice president Joe Capritto and treasurer Anne Szcygiel will be up for re-election in the Spring.

To be on the ballot, all candidates must submit the required Declaration of Candidacy and file their Campaign Registration Statement at the District Office by the deadline of 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.

The spring election will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. If a primary is necessary, it will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012.

The School Board Academy will include presentations about the major operational areas of the school district, including student achievement, curriculum and instruction, human resources, finance, technology and student services. Additional topics include election procedures and the time commitment of board service.
