Kohl's Holding Interactive Safety Event for Families at Southridge
The interactive event travels throughout the area and educates children and their families about reducing accidental injuries in their homes.
The Greendale Village Board approved the Kohl’s Cares: Great Safety Adventure Event on Tuesday.
The free outdoor event will be at Southridge Mall on May 11.
A $725,000 donation is supporting the "experimental" event, in which a large mobile unit travels throughout the area and educates children and their families about reducing accidental injuries in their homes through interactive tools in animated homes.

Families who participate and complete the adventure will come certified safety rangers.
“The Great Safety Adventure mobile unit is an educational tool for safety preparedness,” wrote Kohls in the permit application. “With home injury as the leading cause of death among Wisconsin youth, teaching children about the dangers in their home is important as ever. The Safety Stars theme encourages families to make home safety a priority by enlisting the help of a local star how knows the importance of safety – on and off the field”
Kohl’s expects a few hundred people to attend the event.
