Greendale Facing a $438,084 Budget Gap Through Walker's Budget Proposal

The Legislative Fiscal Bureau released the analysis late Tuesday.

Greendale has a $438,084 budget gap under the revised state aid measures provided by the Legislative Fiscal Bureau.

The Legislative Fiscal Bureau released numbers late Tuesday analyzing Gov. Scott Walker's 2011-13 budget and its impact on local government aids.

Greendale's projected reductions in funding come in $162,065 in state shared revenue, $200,000 in recycling and $76,019 in transportation aids.

The projected reduction in state aid is a 50 percent reduction from what it received for the 2011 budget. Other municipalities in Milwaukee county that are loosing 50 percent as well are Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, Hales Corner, Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Franklin, Glendale, Greenfield, Oak Creek and Wauwatosa.

The Greendale Village Board said on Tuesday night that they still had not taken a close look into the projections.Village manager Todd Michaels will review the numbers and then refer it to the finance committee who will then report back to the board.
