The Village of Greendale proclaimed April 1 as Varsity Cheerleaders Day in the village on Tuesday's board meeting. The  Greendale High School Varsity Cheerleaders placed second at the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Fl. on Feb. 12 and 13. This was the highest finish of any Wisconsin all-gril team at Finals in the National High School Cheerleading Championships. The team is coached by Tina Zamjahn, Jenna LePine, Whitney Dawe-Crahen and Ms. Patti Mazur. The proclamation describes the  Varsity Cheer Team as, "well-rounded athletes in their own right with tumbling, technical stunting and jumping expertise and have earned the respect of their school and community." The following girls are on the team: Alexandrea Grannan, Allison Hancock, Ashley Kopczynski, Becky Clark, Bridgette Bartlett, Britney Bodden, Caitlyn Segalla, Casey Guillotte, Cassidy Alvarez, Chelsea Banach, Chloe Maglio, Emily Porn, Erika Miller, Kayla Kinnear, Kayla Marquardt, Kendal Fragosso, Lauren Jankowiak, McKena Applin, Michelle Miller, Sophia Emordeno, Tiffany Olson, Tori Rogers, Tori Schmidt, and Veronica Morales, as well as Captains Dana Bartman and Hannah Reichenbach.
