Shoveling Snow To Practice Basketball: Greenfield Star Student Athlete

GREENFIELD, WI — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

How do you know the star student athlete?

Mother

What sport does the star student athlete play?

Basketball & Volleyball. She has also done Track and played Soccer.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

I would like to nominate Allison because she works so hard at whatever she does including her school work. She is always on the Honor Roll. She is also a member of the National honor society and the Science honor society at Greenfield High School.

When it comes to basketball she is usually one of the first to arrive at practice and the last to leave. Her passion is basketball but she seems to excel at whatever sport she tries. She loves to help out with the grade school and middle school basketball teams whenever she gets a chance. The younger girls look up to her because she sets such a good example.

If there is an open gym that she can get access to you will find her there practicing. A couple of winters ago it warmed up but there was still snow on the patio. She shoveled it off so she could practice her shooting. She puts in the work. She is a senior this year but last year she scored her 1000th point. We hope she is able to get her 1000th rebound this coming season. With as hard as she works at everything she does I'm sure she will hit that next milestone.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

She is a great teammate. She encourages and is always there to support her teammates on and off the court.
