Where Were You the Day JFK Was Shot?
'I remember my mom crying. I didn't quite understand what had happened'

The weekend begins on a somber anniversary—50 years since President John F. Kennedy was assassinated—and people who were alive then are recalling where they were that day in 1963 on the Hudson Patch Facebook page. Here are some of their comments:Â
- Kenneth: "I was 5. I remember watching TV with my mom and they interrupted programming to announce his death. I remember my mom crying. I didn't quite understand what had happened."
- Maggie: "freshman in high school ... at school that day when we were all called into an assembly, told what happened, and excused to go home ... so shocked and somber waiting for the bus ..."Â
- Sandra: "I was 23, in Japan with my husband who was stationed at Tachikawa Air Station, living off post and when I was getting up that morning it was on the radio. My husband came in from over-night duty and I told him. He hadn't heard it and didn't believe me at first. The Japanese people loved the Kennedys."
