Massive Storm Tears Roof Off Apartment Building In North Hudson
No injuries were reported but several homes were damaged and the roof was partially removed from an apartment complex, displacing residents.
NORTH HUDSON, WI β A massive storm struck North Hudson on Monday, bringing powerful wind, rain and hail that tore the roof off an apartment building and downed trees and power lines.
The storm hit around 2:40 p.m., causing street closures and electrical fires, according to authorities. No injuries were reported but several homes were damaged and the roof was partially removed from an apartment complex, displacing residents, who received aid from the Red Cross, the village said in a news release.
At one point, around 20,000 Xcel Energy customers were without electricity, according to multiple media outlets, which noted Rosemount also received extreme weather, with large hail falling in the area. Just under 200 customers in North Hudson remained without power as of Tuesday evening.

Winds in North Hudson exceeded 60 mph during the storm, the Star Tribune reported, adding 25 people were displaced and the Village Hall was among the structures damaged.
