Missing Wisconsin Fire Chief's Truck Found With Body Inside

HAYWARD, WI — The Sawyer County Sheriff's Office found a missing fire chief's truck with a body inside it after a search Sunday.

Sheriffs found the truck in a remote wooded area around 2 p.m., the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The Trempealeau County and Sawyer County sheriff's offices are investigating to identify the dead person.

Foul play isn't suspected, the Trempealeau sheriff's office said.

Arcadia-Glencoe Fire Chief Jeff Halvorsen has been missing since Thursday, FOX6 reported.

Halvorsen is a board member of the Wisconsin State Firefighters Association, the association website said.
