Teen Killed, 4 Injured In Stabbing On WI River While Tubing: Sheriff
Authorities said a 52-year-old from Minnesota is being held in jail awaiting charges. Two of the injured were from Wisconsin.
SOMERSET, WI β A teenager is dead and four others are injured after someone stabbed them Saturday afternoon while they were tubing on the Apple River in Wisconsin, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office.
Police found the suspect, a 52-year-old man from Prior Lake, Minnesota, near the exit point for tubers on the river near 110 River Street in Somerset, the sheriff's office said. The man is being held at the St. Croix County Jail awaiting charges, according to the sheriff's office. Police did not immediately provide information about a possible motive.
Authorites were called in just after 3:45 p.m. to an area upstream of the State Highway 35/64 Bridge in Somerset Township. Deputies found five people with stab wounds to their mid-sections and authorites began giving medical aid alongside the help of bystanders, the sheriff's office said.

Two of the injured were flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota and two were taken by ambulance, authorites said. The fifth was brought in an ambulance to Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, Minnesota, where he died, according to the sheriff's office.
The person who died was a 17-year-old from Stillwater, the sheriff's office said.

The four other people who were stabbed are in stable condition with serious to critical injuries to their chest and torso areas, the sheriff's office said. Among the injured were:
- A 20-year-old man from Luck, Wisconsin.
- A 22-year-old man from Luck, Wisconsin.
- A 24-year-old woman from Burnsville, Minnesota.
- A 22-year-old man from Elk River, Minnesota.
