Hello again, Madison! Important update: You all, as readers, have made the Madison Daily so successful that it is my honor to announce the next stage of the newsletter. Here are the top three stories in Madison today:
- Dane County is launching a new grant program aimed at supporting local organizations searching for organic waste solutions. The grant program will hopefully reduce the amount of waste going into local landfills. According to Dane County Executive Joe Parisi, a third of all material entering the county's landfills is organic material. (WMSN Fox 47 Madison)
- A Madison-based brewery is creating a new blonde ale that uses honey from Honeybee Cannabis Company. The beer is cleverly named "Bee Better Have My Honey." Hop Haus Brewing Co. will be donating a portion of the beer's revenue to the Clean Lakes Alliance and to the Henry Vilas Zoo. (Channel3000.com - WISC-TV3)
- The Madison City Council has unanimously approved a new men's shelter during its Tuesday night meeting. The shelter will be located on Bartillon Drive. The new shelter will provide a safe place for men to go while providing permanent housing. The next step is to find designers for the facility. (WMTV – NBC15)
