• Wisconsinites Can Now Access $700 Million Google Settlement Funds (patch.com) — Madison-based state officials are alerting Wisconsin residents that they may be eligible for payments from a $700 million settlement with Google over alleged anticompetitive practices in the Google Play Store. The Department of Justice explains that most affected consumers will receive automatic PayPal or Venmo payments, with a backup claims process for those without these accounts or who miss their notice. 
• Madison Fire Department extinguishes basement fire (nbc15.com) — Firefighters quickly contained a Sunday afternoon basement fire on Portage Road on Madison’s north side, and no one was found inside or injured. Crews initially feared someone might be trapped, but confirmed the homeowner was away while they kept the blaze to one room. The cause remains under investigation.
• Wisconsin DHS Breaks Ranks with CDC on Hepatitis Vaccine (wortfm.org) — Madison listeners tuning into WORT 89.9FM will hear why Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services is rejecting new CDC guidance and still urging newborns to get the hepatitis B vaccine within 24 hours of birth.
