Here are the top three stories in Madison today:
- Madison Girl Scouts participated in a low carbon concrete display during a Madison Public Works meeting on Wednesday. The troops were raising awareness about sustainable construction practices while learning about the industry. The troop learned that cement, a critical ingredient in concrete, contributes seven percent of the world's carbon dioxide emissions. (WKOW)
- The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources warns Madison residents to avoid bats as they emerge from hibernation. The small winged mammals take up to twenty minutes to become fully alert which may cause residents to think they need assistance. - The Wisconsin Film Festival is finally returning to in-person screenings after holding virtual screenings for the last three years. The festival wraps up screenings today at University of Wisconsin theatres. The festival is free to University of Wisconsin students and non-students can purchase passes for $25. (The Badger Herald)
