Here are the top three stories today in Madison:

  1. Madison School District has acknowledged that the land its schools occupy once belonged to the Ho-Chunk Nation. The announcement was made during a special ceremony meant to better incorporate Indigenous history into the schools' curriculum. The district's students began installing plaques at the schools acknowledging the Ho-Chunk's contributions. (La Crosse Tribune)
  2. The University of Wisconsin – Madison Dairy Challenge team has taken first place in the national North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge. The team consisted of Gaelan Combs, Josh Gerbitz, Colin Uecker, and Billy Zeimet. The team was coached by Ted Halbach, a dairy management instructor. (wisc.edu)
