Here are the top 3 stories in Madison today:

  1. Four Madison Fire Department personnel delivered a baby boy in an ambulance last week. On Apr. 11, crew members rushed to an east-side Madison home to help a woman in labor. Shortly after their arrival at the hospital, the baby was born. The team earned stork pins this weekend to recognize their efforts in helping to safely deliver the child. (WMTV – NBC15)
  2. Joe Parisi, a Dane County executive, announced this week that the county plans to give an additional $2.6 million to the Second Harvest Food Bank. This food bank helps community members have access to fresh fruits and vegetables thanks to a partnership with local farmers. The farmers are paid by Second Harvest and then Second Harvest distributes the food to the community. The food bank is equally open to college students in need. (The Badger Herald)
  3. Some Madison College students got a head start on Earth Day cleanup efforts. The students joined together to clean up Warner Park in Madison Friday afternoon. Organizers worked with the Madison Parks directors to determine which parks needed the most cleanup assistance. (WKOW)
